Verietals: Bourbon: SL14, SL28, and Blue Mountain
Product Description: Profile & Varieties
- Robusta (approx. 80% of production): Indigenous to the country, Ugandan Robusta grows wild in forests around Lake Victoria. Unlike standard commercial grades, careful processing yields a highly sought-after bean with robust flavor, excellent espresso crema, and dark chocolate and nutty note.
- Arabica (approx. 20% of production): Grown primarily at high altitudes on the slopes of Mount Elgon and the Rwenzori Mountains. These specialty lots feature bright, winey acidity, floral undertones, and cherry or berry notes
Product Detail: Major Growing Regions
- Mount Elgon (Bugisu): Located in the east, this region is famous for producing high-quality washed Arabica.
- Rwenzori Mountains: Known as the "Mountains of the Moon," located in the west, producing both excellent Arabica and high-grade Robusta.
- Lake Victoria & Central Region: The heart of Uganda’s Robusta production, benefiting from a stable, twice-yearly rainy season
