These beeswax tea lights are hand-made on the island of Java, Indonesia, in a factory that is fair trade guaranteed and sa8000 certified for its social accountability. Employees enjoy humane working conditions, good wages, and free health care and vacation benefits.
- ETHICALLY HARVESTED: Aloha Bay Bees are treated with care and respect. Honey is extracted without harming the bees, using uncapping knives to remove wax caps from each honeycomb cell.
- NO HARMFUL CHEMICALS: Free from pesticides, insecticides, fungicides, and air pollution.
- VALUE-DRIVEN: Despite the higher cost of wax, we offer beeswax products at a reasonable price, focusing on employing more hands to feed families rather than maximizing profits.
- LONGER BURN TIMES: Beeswax products last longer: votives (20 hours), pillars (30 hours), tapers (9 hours), and tea-lights (5 hours). Aluminum cups are recyclable.
- NATURAL AROMA & COLOR: Our beeswax has no added scent. Aroma and color depend on what the bees feed on, such as patchouli, ylang ylang, marigolds, and hibiscus flowers.
